Our Curriculum

How We Build A Love For Learning

At Trehaus Preschool, your little one is will be actively engaged in the learning process helping to hone their learning skills.

Our classes are conducted in small groups of a 1:5 teacher ratio, allowing teachers to notice and address every child’s questions and offer tailored assistance more effectively in order to help them succeed. Little ones are able to reflect on challenges and work together to resolve them. This allows them to gain a true understanding of working as a team to problem-solve together, especially during critical-thinking tasks.

We focus on fostering a deep love of learning in our children by encouraging them to ask questions and spark a curiosity that will lead to an enquiry exploration. Our teachers guide lessons and activities whilst allowing the children to plan and carry out investigations, propose explanations and solutions, and communicate their understanding of the concepts in class.

Little Learners

As much as it’s all about learning through play, we also want our kids to know when it’s time to sit quietly, listen respectfully to others, and learn together in groups. Little Assembly includes session from our Xiao Zuo Zhe, Little Journalist and Little Mathematician groups, where our children gather to listen to stories and songs, to perform to the class, present their Little Programme projects, and practise their public speaking.

  • Mandarin is more than a subject in the Xiao Zuo Zhe curriculum. The learning experiences designed in the curriculum are relevant to children’s daily lives, providing them a meaningful context to develop knowledge and skills in Mandarin language and literacy.

Our children’s journey with Xiao Zuo Zhe starts with Chinese nursery rhymes, music and poems to open up their world of learning Mandarin. Books are another key element to build children’s foundation in Mandarin. Starting with stories, books are the channel for children to move from avid story listeners to competent readers and writers.

In addition, Xiao Zuo Zhe also adopts the multimodal approach to respond to children with different learning styles and guarantees that children will listen, speak, read, and write Mandarin confidently in their everyday life.

  • Aims to expose children to the knowledge of English language and literacy in a fun and engaging way, Little Journalist provides multi-sensory learning experiences to integrate all aspects of literacy for the children.

Starting with books designed by our Trehaus curriculum specialists, Little Journalist nourishes children’s love for books and eventually prepares them to become avid readers and writers.

In this well-paced program, children will learn phonics, literacy and be given authentic opportunities to apply their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills and use these skills as windows to understand the world around them.

  • Tapping on children’s innate curiosity for math concepts and skills, and inspired by the key elements in Singapore Math, Little Mathematician provides authentic, fun and hands-on learning experiences to support children in developing a solid foundation in math and logical thinking, step by step, developing and honing their ability to think mathematically.

In our Little Mathematician curriculum, children will find math approachable, applicable and relevant. Math is more than worksheets and rote memorization; instead, it is a way to deepen children's understanding of the world through abstract thinking.
